Job Summary:
The Licensing Specialist with 4 or more years of experience is responsible for securing music copyrights, negotiating licensing agreements, and managing royalty payments for songs used in our karaoke systems. This position requires a strong background in music licensing and copyright management, as well as the ability to work closely with music publishers, performing rights organizations, record labels, and internal teams. The role ensures that all music content used in our products is fully licensed, compliant with intellectual property regulations, and accurately documented for royalty processing.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Copyright & Licensing Management

·         Identify songs and music works requiring copyright clearance for karaoke use.

·         Negotiate and secure licensing agreements with rights holders, publishers, record labels, and performing rights organizations.

·         Draft and process licensing agreements in compliance with copyright regulations and industry standards.

2. Royalty Administration

·         Calculate, process, and monitor royalty payments to music rights holders based on usage and licensing agreements.

·         Maintain accurate royalty records and prepare reports for publishers and collecting societies.

·         Ensure timely disbursement of royalties in accordance with contractual terms.

3. Compliance & Music Catalog Management

·         Ensure all karaoke content complies with licensing terms and copyright laws.

·         Maintain and update a database of licensed songs, contract details, and renewal schedules.

·         Monitor changes in music copyright regulations and industry practices.

4. Internal Collaboration

·         Work closely with content, production, and technical teams to ensure licensed songs are integrated into products.

·         Provide advice to marketing and operations teams regarding song usage rights.

Qualifications:
Education:

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Music, Music Business, Entertainment Management, or related field.

Work Experience:

·         4 or more years of experience in music licensing, copyright management, or royalties administration (preferably in the music, entertainment, or media industry).

Technical Skills:

·         Strong understanding of music copyright laws, licensing processes, and royalty structures.

·         Experience working with music publishers, performing rights organizations (e.g., FILSCAP), and record labels.

·         Excellent negotiation, contract coordination, and communication skills.

·         Proficient in record-keeping, reporting, and office productivity tools (MS Office/Google Workspace).

·         Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
